Black Peppered Beef With Celeries & Snow Peas

Since I've already declared this week as the makan week, might as well I just go along with it. And ironically, my mood is in sync with the theme too.......I've been cooking almost every night this whole week.

Tonight, I cooked this for dinner - Black Peppered Beef with Celeries & Snow Peas
. It's a combi of all of my fave food - Beef, Celeries, Snow Peas & Black Pepper.

The beef

The sauce

Fry the beef under maximum heat for 1 minute or till the colour changed. Put aside.

Fry the garlic & ginger till fragrant.

Add in the onions & continue frying till the onions becomes soft.

Then, pour approximately 1/2 bowl of black pepper sauce. Add water if necessary.

Put in the vegetables & fry till half cooked.

Finally, add the beef & mix well.

Dish out & enjoy.

Thai Style Steamed Siakap

Cooked this for dinner last nite. While on my bike, I suddenly had the craving for a steamed fish. So, I made a detour to Tesco right away in a quest for a steamed fish. This is a very simple recipe which requires less than half an hour of both preparation & cooking time. And yet the result is just marvelous.

This time, I'm gonna present my recipe in a "Step by Step" manner. Was a bit rajin last nite to snap the pics while cooking. So, here we go......

The fish, that is siakap (sea bass)

The basic ingredients

The must-have sauces ( these particular ones, akak import dari Bangkok lagi nih !)

Fry the lemon grass, cili padi, garlics, galangal & lime leaves for a while

Add in the onions & fry till fragrant

Add 1 - 2 cups of plain water, 1 tbsp fish sauce, 1 1/2 tbsp lime sauce & 1 tbsp sugar

Put in the fish & cover the pan. Cook for 5 minutes under medium fire. Turn over the fish & cook for another 5 minutes.

Add in the vegetables, if desired. In my case, I've used mushrooms & celeries. Cook till the vegetables are soft.

Voila ! Bon Apetit !

The name is indeed funny....cant deny that. I just cant think of any other name that suit the food well. I brought this for my "Breakfast With The Gals" last week. Seems that both Ija & Ain loves it so much & asked me to post the recipe in my blog.

I'm sorry gals for taking so long to post it here - biasalah, got so many other stories to write about. Tu yang langsung tak teringat tuh. Anyway, demi tak menghampakan ibu-ibu berdua ni, here's the recipe :

Ingredients

4 - 5 slices of white bread, cut into 2

1 small can of sardine, crushed

1 onion, chopped

2 chillies, chopped

1 calamansi (limau kasturi), extract the juice

2 eggs, beaten

How To

j0438502
Add the chopped onions, chillies & juice into the crushed sardines. Add salt if necessary.

j0438502
Cut off the bread crust & cut the bread into 2.

j0438502
Mix the sardines with the beaten eggs.

j0438502
Spread some sardine+egg mixture onto one side of the bread & fry (face down) on a greased pan

j0438502
Turn it to the other side once the sardine’s side is done.
